LabelThe scene on this vase, entitled The Fortune Teller, is taken from an engraving by Pierre-Alexandre Aveline (French, 1702-1760), which in turn is after a design by François Boucher (French, 1703-1770). Boucher designed the composition for a tapestry series made at the Beauvais factory.* Works in the collection are moved off view for many different reasons.
